Georgios is a technologist and entrepreneur. He started his career in e-commerce software solution architecture in 2002. He founded his first start-up in 2009, building data analytics engines, which he exited through a trade sale to The AI Corporation in 2013. He became AI Corporation’s Director of Product, overseeing a global team of fraud prevention system development for clients such as Diners Club, Nedbank and Barclaycard. In parallel with his executive and leadership roles, he worked as a Research Associate on Healthcare Analytics at St. George’s University and University of Surrey and was part of the QICKD and TRANSFoRm study protocols. During his earlier career, he has also helped balena.io grow from a Guildford-based team of 4 to a global team of over 100 employees, and launched Tiger Nation while a CTO in 2012, a ‘citizen science’ conservation project in collaboration with the Born Free Foundation amongst other NGOs. He has been building Vivup into the brand and product it is today since 2012 through various roles, and as CTO since 2021. He has overseen and led a combination of functional areas including technology, product, transformation, data & strategy, as well as governance, risk, and compliance. In early 2024, he played a key role in Vivup’s acquisition by Great Hill Partners PE and merger with Perkbox, and has been serving as Group Chief Technology Officer since. He is an alumnus of University of Surrey, having completed a MSc in Internet Computing and a PhD in Machine Learning & Digital Ecosystems, and is an Associate Fellow of the Higher Education Academy and a member of BCS, the UK’s Chartered Institute for IT. He advises on AI and scaling tech-centric businesses.
