Sam is a proven leader in the apps and loyalty space, with 15 years’ experience across product and marketing roles. Sam currently heads up customer loyalty for JD Sports Fashion PLC and was a leading figure in bringing the retailers JD STATUS programme to market for in-store and online customers across the UK in October 2023. JD STATUS subsequently launched across France this June, with Sam planning the strategy for the global expansion of the loyalty programme.
Prior to his work on customer loyalty, Sam previously led JD’s strategy surrounding mobile apps, ensuring that the acquisition and retention of app customers was central to the company’s digital offering.
Before working at JD, Sam spent 10 years at Manchester United, working on marketing strategy for the club’s digital media products. This included leading the campaigns to bring the club’s first D2C app to market, with the introduction of the MUTV app in 2017, followed by the global launch of the Manchester United Official App in 2018.
